We've seen Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Tab in photos in the past, but today a video was released of the device being tested in the field. The folks over at Electronista spotted the Tab being tested at a train station in Sydney, Australia, who confirmed much of what we already knew about the device: it has a 7-inch screen and is running Android. The owner of the device couldn't provide any other concrete details, but he did describe it as being both "awesome" and, when asked how it compared to Apple's iPad, "different."
The Galaxy Tab definitely looks like a huge cell phone, and thanks to the size, the fact that is has Android, and the reported specs like a 1 GHz processor and 3G connection, it should be a capable iPad competitor whenever it's finally released. Given the fact that the Tab looks to be in carrier testing now, hopefully we'll see it launch in the near future. With the Tab, the Motorola Stingray, and several other similar devices about to enter the market, the tablet wave is about to hit. Ready your wallets, folks!
