Right on schedule, Verizon has made the Motorola DROID 2 available on its website for eager customers looking for the new Android hotness. Verizon had said that the presale would start today, which is presumably for customers who prefer an in-store experience. The device is actually for sale right now on Big Red's site, but you won't be getting it until tomorrow at the earliest, so don't think buying online will get you a DROID 2 earlier than everyone else. In case you missed the announcement, the DROID 2 will set you back $199.99 with a two-year contract or $559.99 if you elect to go contract-free. If you're interested in buying a DROID 2, you can do so from Verizon right here.
Considering the success that the original DROID experienced, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the DROID 2 ends up becoming the biggest Android phone to date. With its faster processor and improved keyboard, the DROID 2 is a great upgrade for owners of the first DROID and for consumers new to the Android experience. With the flurry of devices released lately, the Android party has been growing steadily and, by releasing the DROID 2, Verizon is sending an invitation to the bash. Are you going to RSVP?
