Those of you that jumped the gun and downloaded the unofficial version of Android 2.2 for the EVO 4G from HTC's servers a couple of weeks back are in luck. HTC and Sprint have finally begun beaming the update that will bring everyone up to speed, moving you from the 3.26.561.3 version of Froyo to the more official, 3.26.561.6 version. Just head to System Updates in the Settings section of your device and the download should initiate itself. If not, Sprint should be notifying you and your device of the OTA update fairly soon.
It may have taken a little more time than everyone would have liked, but I'm glad HTC has brought everyone to the same level in a reasonable amount of time. Sure, you early adopters had to wait a bit, but that's the price of downloading unofficial software, I suppose. How many of you EVO owners that took the early .3 update have been pushed the fresh, official .6 version?
