I just got back from a Sprint meeting, where the reps offered me a peek at the pre-release beta of the Epic 4G, the carrier’s much-anticipated Galaxy S phone. I managed to shoot some footage, so while I’m working on editing and uploading that, here are some pics to whet your appetite (below).
This Sammie phone is the only Galaxy S with a front-facing camera (1.3 mp) and rear camera (5 mp), along with an LED flash. Like the name suggests, it’s a 4G/3G phone that packs in several goodies, including a hardware QWERTY keyboard, Super AMOLED 4” screen, 1GHz Hummingbird processor, Wifi b/g/n, hotspot functionality, TouchWiz 3.0 and Android 2.1 (upgradeable to 2.2, “Froyo”).
Sadly, Sprint didn’t have availability and pricing yet, though the Android blogs today have been positing August 11th as a rumored date.
More to come. Stay tuned!
