Yesterday we brought you the news that some users were experiencing problems with their DROID X screens, and now Verizon and Motorola have acknowledged the issue. Owners were seeing flickering or vertical banding with their devices, but no one was sure precisely what the cause of the problem was. When asked about the issue, Verizon and Motorola had this to say:
Verizon Wireless and Motorola are aware of a very small number of DROID X units that have experienced a flickering or banding display. Motorola has resolved the issue and is continuing to ship the phones. Any consumer who experiences a flickering or banding display should contact a Motorola customer support center or Verizon Wireless.
While the response was short and sweet, it does the job. Yesterday we recommended that DROID X users with screen problems visit their local Verizon store, and that's precisely what the carrier suggests. Let's hope that Motorola has indeed fixed the problem, because with the online orders being pushed back to August 3rd ship dates, they can't afford to keep switching out defective units. Have any of you with DROID X screen problems had your device switched out for a working model?
