When Apple issued the response that the iPhone 4 signal issues were caused by users holding the device wrong, many people were flabbergasted.  Perhaps as an answer to those users, CNET is reporting that Apple may issue an iOS 4 update to fix those signal problems as early as today.  Users of Apple's tech support forums reported seeing Apple employees confirming that an iOS 4.01 update was being worked on, but the discussions have since been deleted.

Some users described seeing some signal issues with their iPhone 3G and 3GS devices after upgrading to iOS 4, leading many to believe that the signal issue is both a software and hardware problem.  Since the iPhone 4 antenna is on the outside of the device and is the cause of some of these issues, the 4.01 update may not completely erase the reception problems, although it could lessen them to a more manageable extent.  After upgrading an iPhone 3GS to iOS 4, I experienced zero reception problems, so the reception issues may not be as widespread as some think.  Still, I hope the update does fix some of the trouble users have been having with their devices.  Are you having problems with your signal after using iOS 4?
