After selling about 600,000 pre-orders for the new iPhone 4, Apple has officially released sales numbers for the new device. Going through to Saturday, June 26th, Apple sold over 1.7 million devices. Passing up the iPhone 3GS launch where 1 million units were sold on opening weekend, this makes the iPhone 4 by far the most successful Apple launch and probably the most successful phone launch ever, as well.
With the alleged number of pre-orders for the iPhone 4, coupled with the fact that it's an iPhone, I knew the iPhone 4's debut was going to be big. I just didn't know it was going to be this big. No matter which smartphone OS camp you call home, it's tough to not be impressed by the number of devices Apple managed to move over the first few days of availability. If Apple announced that 2 million iPhone 4s were sold after Sunday sales numbers are tallied, I wouldn't be at all surprised. So, those of you that fall into this category of 1.7 million, what do you think of your iPhone 4?
