T-Mobile has been home to several hot Android devices ever since the the launch of the G1, and if a recent rumor is true, the carrier will be doing it again. AndroidGuys spoke with a reportedly high up T-Mobile rep at a recent HTC event in Seattle who said that the carrier would be getting a device with a 4.3-inch screen, similar to Verizon's DROID X and Sprint's EVO. The handset, rumored to be the HTC Vision, would sport a dual core 800 MHz processor , Android 3 (Gingerbread?), and a screen technology that has never been seen before. We may also see an 8 megapixel camera and front-facing camera on the device. The T-Mo rep said that we would be seeing the handset by the beginning of the holiday season.
The mystery device is rumored to be T-Mobile's Project Emerald, which has been said to be an HTC-made handset with a 4.3-inch screen, physical keyboard, and the Android OS. This one is still firmly entrenched in rumor land, but with the current trend of devices with huge screens, I wouldn't be surprised to see this phone come into existence at some point. Now we just need a 4.3-inch device for AT&T. The Nexus One can't hold down the large-screen fort by itself forever, although the upcoming Samsung Captivate will certainly help!
