One of my absolute favorite things about Android is the integrated turn-by-turn directions provided by Google Maps, and with every update it's getting better by leaps and bounds. Amongst all of the platforms out there today, the Google Maps support on Android is something that could truly set it apart for many consumers.
The update we're seeing today is just expanding the application's functionality for the people that use it. With updates like bicycling directions, a shortcut to turn-by-turn navigation in the application drawer, and the ability to share your destination via email, SMS, or integrated social media like Facebook and Twitter.
It's the little steps and the tiny updates like that that can truly set an application and development team apart from any others. Unfortunately, if you're on Android 1.5, you will not be able to get in on the destination sharing love. This update is for Android 1.6+. To update your Google Maps, head to Android Market, click on downloads, and you should see and update for Maps. You know what to do from there!
If you've already update your Maps, do you see any other changes? Sound off in the comments!
