Just wanted to mention the first-ever national Free Shipping Day on December 18 as a follow-up to the free shipping deadlines I blogged about earlier. The promise is that gifts purchased TOMORROW from 200+ affiliated retailers are guaranteed to ship gratis and arrive by Christmas eve.
Typically, holiday sales slow after December 12th, so some clever folks concocted this designated day to boost spending in the latter part of the season. I spotted several retailers on the website that should appeal to PhoneDoggers (that is, among the myriad underwear and shoe retailers, who are probably hurting since kids rarely ask for briefs or loafers).
It's noteworthy that Wirefly and Amazon signed up, extending their previous December 17th deadlines by one day. Other cell phone purveyors include Circuit City, Letstalk.com, Target, Overstock.com, WireFly and Walmart.
Some (but not all) retailers have ordering minimums and requirements, so visit Free Shipping Day online for details. It's also worth checking out the whole list of stores, including Macy's, Dell and GameStop, if you have other shopping to do.
I guess good things really do come to those who wait.
