I'm always a little weary of these renderings-cum-photos of new cell
phones, especially when the devices are just kind of floating off in
space in the photos, and not actually laying on a table or sunning themselves on a rocky beach. On the one hand, press photos often look
just like this, but on the other hand these types of images are easier
to fake than actual photos.
That said, Boy Genius Report has some imagery of what supposedly are
four new Motorola phones headed to Verizon in 2009. One of the devices
looks just like the Krave that came out a few months back, while the
others are all sleek and shiny and semi-smartphone looking. It's hard
to know, actually, if any of these phones are full-on smartphones or
"mere" messaging devices - assuming that they're real - but two of 'em
have sliding QWERTY boards and one is a black and chrome and sexy all
over full touchscreen job.
Real? Fake? Your guess is as good as mine ... BGR says the
"Rush 2" will be out in Q1 of '09, so I guess we'll be able to separate
the truth from the fiction sometime in the next two or three months.
