I'm a bit embarrassed to know that reference is available for use. I don't know where it comes from though, so I'm clean. The people around me may not be, however. And there's an app in the Android Market whose sole function is to fuel my phobia. iPhone users will be able to join in on the contagious fun soon enough, though.
It's really just a bunch of ads hiding under the auspices of a strange program, but the program is strange enough to mention. The Zicam Cold & Flu Companion gets data on flu occurrence in your area from physician and pharmacist polls taken by Matrixx Initiatives Inc. You need to have GPS enabled, even though the app claims to grab data based on zip code.
The program allows you to see how many people are sick around you, what their symptoms are, etc. It then gives you a coupon code and finds a local store that carries their product. There's also an animation of a running buffalo.
I suddenly feel the need to wash my hands.
