Verizon has recently announced the rough n' tough G'zOne Boulder - a brand new Push to Talk (PTT) phone. The name really says it all with this bad boy from Bedrock. According to the press release from VZW, the phone supports the VZ Navigator, V CAST Music with Rhapsody, and V CAST Video, but those features are to be expected. What's really great about the Boulder is its rugged design. The phone sports 810F (a grade of survivability in the field set by the United States Army) standards for water, shock, dust, immersion, vibration, salt fog, humidity, solar radiation, altitude, and low and high temperatures.

While impressive, I'm upset that the phone doesn't support the 810E grade for resistance to fungus growth, but the 1.3 megapixel camera surely makes up for it.  Alongside the military grade toughness, the Boulder also boasts a flashlight, an electronic compass, and a force field. Err- sorry, make that Field Force Manager. Field Force Manager is a tool that allows businesses to locate, communicate and monitor field workers.

The G'zOne Boulder is available through Verizon Wireless for $129.99 on a contract after $50 online discount with an available Push to Talk service for an additional $5 a month through Nationwide voice plans.
