As reported a few weeks ago, Alltel will launch the LG Glimmer handset on March 13. Glimmer is a sliderphone very reminiscent of the LG Shine, but the addition of a touchscreen, making it a very sexy and very innovative device, at least on paper.
Glimmer features a 2MP camera, integrated GPS, and a media player that supports a wide variety of audio and video file formats and packs 128MB of memory for media and gaming support. The phone will be packaged with a 3.5mm stereo headphone adapter for use with your favorite headphones, and also features a microSD memory card slot.
Though as of my writing this Glimmer is listed as out of stock on Alltel's Website, word has it that the phone will be available on March 13. Engadget Mobile says $250 after rebates will get you your Glimmer if you're willing to sign a two-year contract.
