The now-overdue successor to Nokia's flagship N95 handset just might have been leaked on the company's German Website earlier this week. While the offending page has since been removed from Nokia.de, it was up there long enough for some speedy bloggers to copy down the leaked specs of the new multimedia master of Finnish phones.
Looking like a sibling of the N81 (which, I assume, marks the new design direction of all forthcoming N-Series devices), the N96 is taller and wider, but also 3mm thinner than the N95. The N96 also appears to have a few new goodies under its hood, as well.
At the top of the list is a full 16GB of internal storage backed by a microSD slot for even more room for your media files. The N96 also rocks HSDPA and a DVB-H tuner for mobile television reception, but they're both European flavor only. US users can still take advantage of the handset's quadband GSM radio, 5 MP camera with 30 fps VGA video capture (with flash!), WiFi, GPS, and 3.5mm audio jack. There's also a Web browser with Flash Lite 3 support as part of the S60 Feature Pack 2 platform. And one can only assume that an N96 North American version must be waiting somewhere in the wings at Nokia HQ.
