When Verizon and Vodafone both recently decided to go with LTE to run their 4th generation data network you have to ask the question? will we finally see the end of CDMA? All signs are pointing in that direction when you consider the lack of compatibility between the two networks and the fact Sprint has added WiMax instead of EV-DO Rev. C it's seems to be only a matter of time. By switching to the GSM standard Verizon and Sprint customers will not only have access to a larger selection of phones but for the first time the ability to use more than one phone per account.
I for one use Verizon as my carrier - not because of the great rates (obviously), but simply because I NEVER had a dropped call nor do I lose service where my AT&T friends are standing on their toes desperately trying to get a signal. I just hope that level of service will continue if and when they finally make the switch otherwise I might as well get an iPhone with a side order of rollover minutes =;^}
