Release date: Jan. 4, 2005 LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Alltel, owner of America's largest wireless network, has launched a new version of its wireless Internet service, allowing customers to download ringtones and wallpapers, browse the Internet, and quickly access the latest weather, news, sports and more.
Alltel has partnered with Motricity, the leading global provider of mobile content and solutions, to offer its Axcess Web service for $5.99 a month.
"Alltel maintains a massive ringtone and wallpaper library for customers, and we are committed to making it convenient for our customers to download the content they need and want," said Wade McGill, vice president of wireless product management at Alltel. "Now Alltel customers will have more access to ringtones and wallpapers than ever before."
Axcess Web features local weather conditions and news headlines upon launching the browser. A robust search engine to easily find ringtones and wallpapers is also included.

Axcess Web is currently available to customers with the Nokia 6235i wireless phone. The enhanced service will be available to all Alltel customers in March.
