The gloves are off, and the fight has begun.
Carrier wars are nothing new, but the recent ad campaign by Verizon is bringing it back into the spotlight. What frustrates you, me, and probably everyone else in the world after dropped calls? A lack of 3G. That shiny new iPhone 3GS doesn't work nearly as well on an EDGE connection (believe me). In the ad, Verizon touts the fact that its 3G coverage area is five times the size of AT&T's. It's certainly an interesting take on the carrier wars, I'll give them that - but do advertisements like this work, or do they go the opposite way and alienate customers due to the general nature of smear campaigns?
