The small Android tablet market seems to be an ever-growing one. You have a number of entries from Amazon and Google, with both their Kindle Fire Tablets and Google Nexus tablets. But you also have the option to get the Galaxy Note 8.0. It's Samsung's mid-range tablet sitting between their Note mobile device and the full sized Galaxy Note 10.1. It features an 8-inch display, the S Pen, and Android 4.1 with TouchWiz customizations.

Underneath it runs the same internals as the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. A 1.6GHz quad-core Exynos processor, 2 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of storage. It's one solid device but the price tag of $349 is way too high compared to other tablets in the same segment. You can buy the Google Nexus 7 with a 7-inch display, a 2.2GHz quad-core processor and 2 GB of RAM for only $229. You may lose some screen real estate but it offers on-par performance. But if you do require a tablet that uses the S Pen, the Note 8.0 would be my choice. It's the perfect size for a tablet in my opinion.
