They're both beautiful, and both have distinct benefits. The HTC One has a gorgeous metal frame, HTC Zoe capabilities, and cool software improvements like HTC BlinkFeed. Its upcoming availability on AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile is a nice win for HTC. The Nexus 4 is beautiful, packs stock Android 4.2, and is priced incredibly well at $299 without a contract (8 GB version).
