Beau HD gives us 7 reasons why the Google and HTC Nexus 9 is better than the Dell Venue 8 7000. Some of the specs of the Nexus 9 include the most up-to-date version of Android 5.0 Lollipop, Corning Gorilla Glass 3, dual front-facing speakers, and NFC. The Dell Venue 8 7000 features Android 4.4 KitKat, stereo speakers, no NFC, and no Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The Google and HTC Nexus 9 and the Dell Venue 8 7000 are actually two very similar devices. So instead of comparing them back to back, we’re going to highlight several features that make each device better than the other. In this video, we’re going to give you seven reasons why the Google and HTC Nexus 9 is better than the Dell Venue 8 7000 here on PhoneDog.
Number One:
The Nexus 9 runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. It’s the most recent version of Android that features a radically new interface with Material Design as well as a host of other features, some of which include multi-user support and lock screen notifications.
Number Two:
The Nexus 9 is the first to receive software updates. Not only does it run the most recent and up to date version of Android 5.0 Lollipop as in reason number one. But it’s a Google Play device that receives updates directly from Google before any other manufacturer. The Dell Venue 8 7000, for example, is running 4.4 KitKat and has to wait for Dell to release the Android Lollipop update, which there is no estimated time for arrival.
Number Three:
The Nexus 9 has dual front-facing stereo speakers. While the Dell Venue 8 7000 has front-facing speakers, they are only located on one side of the tablet whereas with the Nexus 9, there are dual front-facing stereo speakers that sort of sandwich the display in either sides to create a more enjoyable and immersing experience when watching videos or playing music.
Number Four:
The Nexus 9 is easier to hold and there is much more bezel room to hold the tablet in one or two hands. The Dell Venue 8 7000 may look more aesthetically pleasing than the Nexus 9 with its very small bezels but it’s much more difficult to hold and operate.
Number Five:
The Nexus 9 features a 4:3 aspect ratio that allows more content to be presented on the 8.9-inch display. The Dell Venue 8 7000 features a 16:10 aspect ratio that may be good for watching videos but it doesn’t necessarily offer a superior viewing experience when browsing the web or reading articles or playing games.
Number Six:
The Nexus 9 has NFC, whereas the Dell Venue 8 7000 does not have NFC or Near-Field Communication technology. This means it is not compatible with NFC tags nor can you transfer data by tapping two NFC capable devices together.
Number 7:
The Nexus 9 has Corning Gorilla Glass 3, making it up to three times more scratch resistant than the previous version of Gorilla Glass (Corning Gorilla Glass 2), which demonstrates an enhanced ability to build and resistant deep scratches that typically weaken glass. The Dell Venue 8 7000 does not feature Gorilla Glass, making it more prone to damage.
