The Samsung Galaxy S6 is almost here. In fact, it’s right around the corner as it’ll be officially announced in less than a week. I don’t know about you but I’m excited to see what the next Galaxy flagship device will feature. Thanks to some of the recent leaks of the Galaxy S6, I think we already have a very good idea as to what it could feature. I have gathered over 20 leaked features of the Samsung Galaxy S6. While nothing is official and Samsung will announce the Galaxy S6 next week on the 1st of March, these are some features that we will likely see in the Galaxy S6.
First of all, the new Samsung flagship device will (finally) be constructed of metal. There will be two variations: one with a curved display, and the other with a more traditional flat display. Both versions will feature a metal build construction. And similar to the iPhone 6, it’ll feature a thin profile measuring in at just 6.9mm thick. Whether you like it or not, thin is most definitely in right now. This means that the battery will be smaller, in fact, it’ll be only 2600 mAh; which makes me question its ability to hold a charge, especially considering it’ll feature a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with a 1440 x 2560 resolution and an octa-core Exynos 7420 processor consisting of two quad-core processors, one clocked at 1.3GHz and one clocked at 1.9GHz.
It’ll also be accompanied by 3GB of RAM, an ARM Mali-T760 GPU, a 20MP camera sensor on the rear with OIS and a 5MP camera sensor up front, a microSD card slot up to 128GB, 32GB of storage which will be standard. So obviously those are some killer specs, but once again it makes me wonder how the battery life will be. I trust Samsung knows what they’re doing, but man battery life is so important.
One thing that I do want to add is that wireless charging will be a part of the new Samsung Galaxy S6, whether it’s built in to the device or whether or not it needs an accompanied case is yet to be known, but we do know that wireless charging will be a part of the Galaxy S6 in some form.
Now those were some of the more talked about features, there are several others that are worth mentioning. As with the Galaxy S5, the Galaxy S6 is said to be water-resistant with an IP67 certification. It’ll have an improved fingerprint scanner built into the home button similar to the S5. It’ll also have a service called Samsung Pay to manage mobile payments similar to Apple Pay. It just acquired LoopPay and so it only makes sense for Samsung to release a mobile payment system to compete with Apple Pay.
Now one of the features I’m looking forward to the most is the software that is said to be radically improved and more like stock Android than any other version of TouchWiz. The Galaxy S6 will ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box and it’s said that the new version of TouchWiz will feature more Google apps and less Samsung bloatware. I think this is very important in earning the respect from the tech-industry because Samsung has had a bad reputation in terms of their software and I think it’s about time that changes.
But with that said, those are more than 20 leaked features of the Samsung Galaxy S6. Once again, it’ll be released here very soon but the hype is real, I can’t wait. And I really want to know what your thoughts are of the Galaxy S6. Do you plan on picking up this phone or waiting of the M9? Let me know in a comment down below.
