Beau HD gives us 12 reasons why the Google Nexus 6 is better than the Apple iPhone 6 Plus. Some of the specs of the Nexus 6 include a quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor with 3GB of RAM, 5.96-inch AMOLED 2560x1440 display, 13-megapixel camera sensor, front-facing stereo speakers, and Android 5.0 Lollipop. The iPhone 6 Plus features a 5.5-inch LCD 1920x1080 display, dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel camera sensor, and iOS 8.
Instead of comparing two devices side by side, it’s time to do something different with the iPhone 6 Plus and the Nexus 6. This time around, we’re discussing each phone’s features to determine why the Nexus 6 is better than the iPhone 6 Plus.
Reason #1: Resolution
With its 5.96-inch 2560x1440 AMOLED display, the Nexus 6 has a higher-resolution screen than the iPhone 6 Plus. It comes with a pixel density of 493 pixels per inch, whereas the iPhone 6 Plus only has 401 pixels per inch with its 1920x1080 LCD panel.
Built with AMOLED technology, the Nexus 6 is able to display more accurate blacks and is more densely packed with pixels compared to the iPhone 6 Plus. This means that the content on the Nexus 6's screen much clearer and more detailed.
Reason #2: Android Lollipop
The latest Android Lollipop OS features a visually stunning operating system. It comes with Material Design, the new look of Google’s operating system that makes use of visuals, motion and interactive design across the entire OS. This results in a very stunning look in applications and the entire operating system as a whole. Apps flow in from the bottom of the screen and menus morph in from the side, creating one of the most visually stunning and modern UIs to date.
Reason #3: Front-facing stereo speakers
The Nexus 6 has front-facing stereo speakers mounted on the top and bottom part of the phone. These speakers face you, so no matter how the content is viewed (landscape or portrait), the speakers don’t get covered up while you're holding the device. The mono speaker on the iPhone 6 Plus doesn’t sound as nice as the front-facing stereo speakers on the Nexus 6.
Reason #4: Multiple user support
The Nexus 6 comes with multiple user support built directly into its OS. You simply tap on the user icon on the notification bar to add a guest user on the device. This lets other people to use the phone without giving them access to your apps and personal information.
Reason #5: Notifications
Notifications are much more clean and organized on the Nexus 6 than on the iPhone 6 Plus. You can choose if you want to show content on each notification by simply swiping it away. Long-pressing on each notification enables you to access the settings or the app that's notifying you. Since each notification has its own card-based UI, you get a cleaner view of each notification.
Reason #6: Fast charging
The Nexus 6 comes with a Motorola Turbo Charger powered by Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology and 15 watts of power. As a result, you can get up to 8 hours of use by plugging in your device for just 15 minutes. The iPhone 6 Plus doesn't have this feature and can't charge as fast as the Nexus 6.
Reasons #7 and 8: More RAM and a more powerful processor
The Nexus 6 comes with 3 GB of RAM, resulting to a buttery smooth and fluid use. It's capable of handling multitasking like a champ. Additionally, the Nexus 6 runs on one of the newest quad-core Snapdragon processors that's also responsible for enabling fast charging. To compare, the iPhone 6 Plus comes with just 1GB of RAM.
Reason #9: Higher resolution images
The Nexus 6 can capture higher resolution images thanks to its 13-megapixel camera sensor. To compare, the iPhone 6 Plus comes with an 8-megapixel camera sensor. Thanks to the higher resolution, you can zoom in on photos captured on the Nexus 6 while retaining their quality.
Reason #10: Capture higher quality video
The Nexus 6 can capture UHD 4K video, which is much higher quality than the iPhone 6 Plus's 1080p video capture. This means that videos taken on the iPhone 6 Plus are not as sharp when compared to videos captured with the Nexus 6, especially when viewed on an Ultra HD TV or monitor.
Reason #11: More ergonomic
The Nexus 6 has a curved back with tapered edges that fit into the curve of your hand. This means that you can get a more comfortable and sturdy grip on the big phone. Its sides are flat, giving you more space to grip the device and hold it with one hand. On the other hand, the iPhone 6 Plus has curved edges and a flat aluminum back. This means that the iPhone 6 Plus is less ergonomic and is more prone to slip out of your hand.
Reason #12: Cheaper
The Nexus 6 is cheaper than the iPhone 6 Plus. The Nexus 6 starts at $649 off-contract and $250 on-contract, while the iPhone 6 Plus starts at $749 off-contract and $300 on-contract, depending on where it's purchased.
These are the 12 reasons why the Nexus 6 is better than the iPhone 6 Plus. Do you have any thoughts about the two devices you’d like to share?
