The good: Very cute, easy to use, takes good pics, and when you are able to text - is easy to do.
The bad: Text messaging is undependable. Messages do not always go thru.
Summary: I am a big texter, and have gone thru 3 different versions of this phone, same model, because each one would at random not receive messages that were sent to me. Sometimes I would receive the message but no until a good 12 to 24 hours later. This is an inconvenience when you are in the middle of a texting conversation and the messages stop coming in.
The good: 1. Nice look/slim and very comfortable to hold.
2. Good sound-receptions .. clear
3. Simple.
The bad: 1. All plastic ... looks cheap.
2. Battery sucks
3. It does not have good pixels
Summary: I bought this phone last week with Rogers. I have high expectation on this one ... so far .. for its sound receptions... are very good ... no echoes .. it has a great sound ...

Well... they advertised .. the battery can hold more than 8 days at least... but mine .. stand-by only.... just hold for days... that sucks big time...

Otherwise... it is a good phone if I can buy a better battery for this one.

If you just need a good simple phone.. this one can satisfy you... as long as you can find a better battery.
The good: size, weight, easy to use, good volume, bluetooth enabled, just an easy pleasing phone to use without any confusing setup issues. so small yet easy to hold against your ear, beats larger flip phones. has a camera flash
The bad: camera resolution is is only 640 x480 at best. pics are a little grainy but this is to be expected at this low resolution
Summary: If you want a small flip with no issues than this is the one for you. it may look like a toy but it has the big features the other larger flips have. ring level is great, very loud but can be lowered as well. this is not a music phone, thats why there are ipods out there. you would run down the battery fast any way. i only wish it was a 2 or more mexapixal camera with a better resolution. but what the heck, just use your digital camera.
The good: This phone is great and very comfortable for texting. It's light, the screens are set up well, I love the ability to have video as screensavers, the navigator is great, etc. etc....
The bad: There are only two things that I can think of that I would REALLY like to have on this phone without having to step up to another model: 1. Task feature (storing and checking off tasks) and 2. a simple hook for a lanyard to prevent it from hitting the ground if I drop it.
Summary: Over-all its a really nice phone with a lot of convenient features. Just those two small additions, for me, and it would take it over the top!
The good: great reception in phone and walkie talkie; nice design; good battery life
The bad: I've not used any of the multimedia stuff (I'm not a techie), but two drawbacks are: 1) the absence of any software by Motorola Tools that would enable a synchronization of my MS Outlook files (address book & calendar) and 2) the bluetooth sometimes goes on and off of its own free will - which has led to several interrupted conversations.
Summary: I've had Sprint Nextel for 2 years, initially with the i970 then the hybrid ic502. I continually complained of interrupted calls, poor reception, noise on the line, etc... furthermore, both batteries hardly lasted a day!
I've now had the ic902 over one month, and I have no more of these complaints. There is literally a world of difference between this model and the two previous ones! I've also used the alarm clock and the calendar, both of which work really well.

That being said, I encourage ALL SPRINT/NEXTEL users to consider signing up in a class-action lawsuit for their MISREPRESENTATION of service and WRONGFUL ADVERTISING: it is absolutely unacceptable that it has taken them two years to make one model that works on both networks! They should never have been allowed to claim "SPRINT, NOW TOGETHER WITH NEXTEL" until they had such a functioning unit.
In reparation, I would suggest that every customer be offered one of these ic902 free of charge AND that all communications between any two Sprint and/or Nextel customers be free of charge.

Realistically, we are getting completely ripped off by the oligopolies that cell phone lobbyists protect in the USA - our free market system is going straight to hell unless we react, and this seems a timely opportunity. Voice your concern! Don't wait until scandals grow the size of Enron or Worldcom - ACT NOW, email me or write a brief note to your state Attorney General's office.

Happy 2008 everyone!
NC
The good: Just about everything.
The bad: Upgrade Policy
Summary: I'm an Ntelos employee and I do agree there are pro's and con's with the company, but you're complaining about coverage in a rural area. The only thing in Blacksburg is a college and it's covered. The tree's and wildlife don't need coverage. Everytime you hear someone complain about coverage, it's in the same darn spots every other company doesn't cover and no body lives there, but the person that's complaining.
The good: SD card slot, fast and easy menus, VGA camera/30 sec video, mp3 player, and excellent 2.0 bluetooth.
The bad: SD card slot is behind the battery, which is weird, and the microphone is on the side of the phone instead of the usual bottom location, which is also weird and annoying when people can't hear you clearly. Also, the main keys are a little to small, which will be harder for grown men wirh huge thumbs when they try to text with itap. The camera could have had a better resolution as well.
Summary: This phone is VERY stylish with cutting-edge features, but falls a tad short due to convenience. This phone might not be best for people who text on the daily, but what more could you want from a phone that also has web/e-mail/instant messaging capability? Basically, it's an improved razr, candy bar style.
The good: Camera flash light when left in the "Always on" Mode makes an incredible makeshift flashlight, UBER bright.
The bad: Since February I have been through 7
Summary: Their have been 2 consistent failures with this phone, over and over again. Foremost is the speaker. Being hearing impaired I utilize the speakerphone when not using the bluetooth headset. On all 7 phones the speaker has gone out after a month or so of use, which includes the ringer and alarm, which I use daily. A beginning sign of the speaker going out is that it gets really fuzzy, then just stops.

I've had two of them where the screen backup light has just gone out which instantly renders the phone unuable other than dialing from memory, w/ voice, or to receive a call.

My third complaint is the poor sound quality in conversation. The folks that I talk with most often know when I'm on my bluetooth, or using the phone (w/ or w/o speaker)by the poor quality that the phone delivers w/o the bluetooth.

As a person who travels for work, I enjoy the same poor sound quality no matter what state I'm in.
The good: It has a ton of memory (i.e. lots of phone book entries, pictures, videos, etc.)
The bad: Sometimes, it randomly turns off when I try to access my calendar or alarm; otherwise, it's great!
Summary: This is a great phone and a major upgrade from my previous one. There's really nothing I can complain about other than it turning off every 50th time I attempt to access my calendar (but really no big deal)...
The good: Memory kicks butt! Camera is awesome, 2mp!
The bad: No insurance because it was so new. Cracks easily! Reception/voice clarity mediocre at best, mine was scratchy and low, I couldn't hear.
Summary: Great phone, but PLEASE be careful! I dropped mine one freakin time and it cracked all the way from bottom to top. Then it started malfunctioning. It turned itself off, then when someone called, the speaker wouldn't come on. The reception was poor before it cracked. Just be cautious!
The good: R-E-C-E-P-T-I-O-N. Period. Flat out knocks motorola out of the water.
The bad: Cant Find one.
Summary: All the bells and whistles (radio, music, memory card, good camera, bluetooth) with great reception, battery life, sturdienss, and voice clarity to boot makes this phone a must have!

I had a Motorola KRZR from Centennial Wireless. I paid $150.00 to buy this phone out of contract because my KRZR cracked. Nokia flat out beats motorola on this one. Period.
The good: Great service especially in rural areas, signal quality is great. Spend alot of time working on their network in my area, not just trying to get major areas like cities. Going over minutes is IMPOSSIBLE with so many free minutes.
The bad: Roaming charges for blue region, switch to nation is hard, phones are a little outdated but starting to improve, caller ID not standard
Summary: Signal quality is AWESOME, clear as a bell nearly everywhere in Louisiana.

I never go over my minutes, that is almost quite impossible with free incoming, free mobile 2 mobile, free night & weekends standard on all plans. Plus, you can get MyVIP's on ANY plan for just $10.00 and call like Alltel's MyCircle, and pay $5.00 for free nights and weekends starting at 5:00. Also, Incoming texts are free. I HATE paying for texts that I didnt ask for nor did I want.

They have MANY more towers in my area than any other.

Customer service is AWESOME. With ATT, at 7:00, they went home. You have a problem at 7:01? Too bad. Centennial is open 24/7. Store in my area is open at 6:30 and closes at 11:00. I love being able to come in and take care of my phone business on my terms and at a time convenient to me. Plus, I have never had to wait for them on the phone. When I call, I feel like a VIP, because I never have had to wait more than about 30 seconds for someone who always helps me.

Phones are a little outdated, and contracts long, but it is starting to improve MAJORLY, especially rolling out blackberry recently (yay!).

Thanks, Centennial for wonderful service, looking forward to MANY great things to come!
The good: Durable, I have droped this phone countless times. Threw it against the was when I was mad looks and sounds like new!Nice design, voice quality is amazing, great features, great phone. all-around
The bad: BulkY,Bluetooth enabled but,Not compatable with all other BLuetooth pda,pc,ect.
Summary: Thickness is necessary if you like to text. Outside keys manageable but a little small.Works well with Bluetooth but not compatible with OTHER Bluethooth PC, PDA, and Phones... not an issue if you dont need to interact with pc,pda. It's very bulky in your pocket but stylish. This phone is of very high quality and reasonably priced.
The good: Excellent coverage, price, easy to use, NO CONTRACTS, great customer service people,
The bad: Not for the type who walks around all day with a cell phone glued to an ear or the gadget lovers who not only want a phone, but also a personal secretary, computer system, musical stereo system, and/or a Star Treck transporter. One must also be patient and civilized while dealing with their phone customer service. The people there are extremely helpful but seem to speak with heavy accents and I don't mean a Southern drawl. Be civilized and patient with them and they will do the same with you. Ge
Summary: No thrills cell phone service that is growing in popularity by the month! I've used cell phones since the "cool" phone to have was a brick-sized monster made by Motorola and Tracfones are my all-time favorite.
Tracfone are cheap, made of good quality, and you can usually get "cellurized" for around $20.00. For those who only use the phone for emergencies, or short calls, you can purchase a 30 minute card for around $10. You can't beat having the securiity of a cell phone at your disposal for $10 a month.
As for coverage, I live in a small town in Central Florida, borderline with the Everglades, and have excellent coverage anywhere I go, including when I'm fishing in the middle of nowhere. You want one better? Remember the year Florida had 4 major hurricanes? Well folks, my Tracfone was the only service operational during and after the storms. My whole family relied on my Tracfone to make/receive calls for a whole week.
Bottom line, if you want to look cool while walking around the mall and talking nonsense on your cell DO NOT use Tracfone, it will cost you a fortune. If all you need is a no-thrill cell that is very inexpensive and reliable, this is the service to go with.
The good: Very good phone as all my LG phones have been. I droped it 30ft out of a cherry picker and it worked fine.
The bad: The biggest problem with this phone is you can't hear the ringer and the ringtones aren't good.
Summary: I would buy another LG and have had 2 and have 2 now, but if the ringer don't get louder, I wouldn't
The good: This phone is very "cute"...everyone is loving the way it flips open two different ways. This protects the keyboard and just looks cool.
The bad: This is my second D307, and I've had the same problems with both...the keyboard gains sensitivity over time, so in landscape mode, the phone does things you don't prompt it to. While landscape mode offers lot of features, it is lacking the one I hoped the most for when I purchased the phone...the ability to surf the web in landscape mode. There is no camera, and this phone doesn't offer a lot of memory. This is a BIG problem because I use the device with MediaNet (AT&T/Cingular web browsing serv
Summary: While the Samsung SGH D307 is aesthetically attractive, it just doesn't feel as practical as my former device (a Blackberry). If all you need is a "cool" looking or "cute" phone, this one might be perfect in its unique dual-flip design. If you need convenient web browsing, the ability to use a QWERTY keyboard at ALL times, a camera or lots of media memory, RUN THE OTHER WAY!
The good: Music and other great offers
The bad: touchsceen- sometimes, you have to press the buttons more than once, and if it's in your pocket and not on the lock mode, buttoms might be pressed and messeges could be accidentally sent, contacts erased, etc.
Summary: the newer chocolates are very efficient and stylish! i have dropped mine well over 30 times (literally!) and it still continues to work. This Christmas, i have the choice of upgrading, but I?m choosing to stay with the chocolate! its very easy to use and fits my needs. i can have a few music files, around 1,000 contacts, games, updating ring-tones, etc. i think it's well worth the money and is everything you're going to want and need!
The good: Never had a problem. can add minutes to phone in menu setup
The bad: i wish tracfone would just change their label to net 10
Summary: In Chautauqua County, NY My Tracfone provider is Cellular One (a dobson Communications Company). Well , Cellular one was just bought out by At&T and Tracfone customers will have the same coverage as a At&T customer. When it is snowing so hard you can not see or Gail force wind, i have all 5 signal bars no mater what the weather is. All of the stores where i get my units when i need them they are sold out and some of the stores i go to they are gone because of the good reception they have. It is pretty bad when you walk into kmart and their is a 3 card limit per month. These stores i go to cannot keep up with the demand. I is pretty bad when they cannot give you rain checks on the phones. But, The net10 phones are so good when i walk into wal-mart in my area that you cannot even buy them. I hear tell that your service depends on where you bought it at when they scanned the bar code for activation.
The good: Alltel owns the East Coast as far as coverage goes and is slowly heading west
The bad: Customer Service reps outsourced to overseas often
Summary: Quite frankly, alot of you complain because you have had one bad experience with Alltel. This could of just as easily happened with any carrier. If you want coverage to be in specific locations like big cities, tell Verizon,ATT,Sprint and T-Mobile to stop being little whiny asses and give cell tower rights to alltel like alltel does for them.Main reason for this is because these companies dont want Alltel invading the big city market. They want to keep them out in the country to keep them from growing too much faster than the rest.Might be much cooler phones on other networks than alltel, but phone service is what matters. And when you travel like I do,your not always in a New York city or Philly.
The good: durable. dropped it a gazillion times and it keeps on tick.... working. gave it a shower and overheated it on an oven range (no hair dryer available) drying it out and thought i'd melted the screen and it recovered nicely and you wouldn't know it. i use it moderately for phone calls only and after getting used to its characteristics (see cons) it's a solid phone.
The bad: the red light incoming call indicator is pointless to me as i'd rather have a window indicating who's calling like my motorola phone had. can't assign individual ring tones to single callers. you can assign them to groups but not as useful or creative for me.
Summary: not a bad phone but not great - solid. you won't impress your friends or enemies if you tie your ego with your cell phone.
