FreedomPop is known for its free smartphone plan, but today the company is making news for something else.
FreedomPop today introduced its very first own-brand smartphone, the FreedomPop V7. The V7 is priced at just £59 ($72 USD) and is currently only available in the UK and Spain in limited quantities from shop.freedompop.com.
As for specs, the FreedomPop V7 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow on a 5-inch 1280x720 display. It’s got Wi-Fi calling, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a VGA front-facing camera, and 16GB of built-in storage that you can add to using a microSD card. Powering this package is a quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor, 1GB of RAM, and a removable 2100mAh battery. Oh, and there’s also dual SIM slots in case you want to use another service provider alongside FreedomPop.
While the FreedomPop V7’s spec list isn’t going to melt your face or anything like that, it’s not really meant to. The V7 is a low-cost smartphone that’s meant to be paired with FreedomPop’s free service, giving folks an affordable way to stay connected. If that sounds like something you’re interested in, give the FreedomPop V7 a look.
