It’s the start of a new month, which means that there are some fresh Android platform distribution numbers to check out.

Google today posted its latest Android distribution stats, which measure the different versions of Android used to access the Play Store during the 7-day period ending on March 6. Nougat usage grew quite a bit this month, going from 1.2 percent in February to 2.8 percent in March.

Usage of Marshmallow increased, too, with Android 6.0 growing from 30.7 percent in February to 31.3 percent in March. The other versions of Google’s OS weren’t so lucky. For example, Android Lollipop slipped from 32.9. percent last month to 32.5 percent this month.

KitKat usage dropped from 21.9 percent in February to 20.8 percent in March, while Jelly Bean fell from 11.3 percent to 10.6 percent. Rounding out the numbers we’ve got Ice Cream Sandwich and Gingerbread usage holding steady at 1.0 percent.

While Nougat usage still represents a slim portion of the overall Android usage, it’s good to see that version more than double from last month. Expect that number to continue to grow as more devices launch with Nougat and existing devices are updated, like the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge.
