Hot on the heels of flagship Android announcements from the likes of Samsung and LG, we’re now getting our first look at the next big phone from Huawei.

Photos that claim to show the Huawei P9 have been shared by VetureBeat. The images show a metal phone that’s said to be powered by an octa-core Kirin 950 processor that includes a Mali-T880 GPU, and there’s also said to be 3GB of RAM. Also said to be included is 32GB of storage, a 5.2-inch 1920x1080 display, a rear-mounted fingerprint reader, a 3900mAh battery, and a USB Type-C port for charging that capacious battery pack. On the software side, we’re told to expect Android 6.0.1.

Perhaps the most interesting feature of the Huawei P9 is its dual rear camera setup. It's similar to Huawei’s Honor 6 Plus, which debuted in 2014 with two 8-megapixel rear sensors, but the Huawei P9 is said to include a pair of upgraded 12-megapixel cameras. It’s expected that Huawei will use these two cameras to enable features like the ability to change the focus of a photo after it’s been captured, as well as other unique features.

The Huawei P9 is expected to make its official debut sometime in Q2 2016. Past rumors have suggested that the P9 will actually be a part of a family of phones that’ll also include a budget-friendly model, a phablet, this P9, and a more premium mode.

While this Huawei P9’s design doesn’t appear to have any crazy features or anything like that, it looks nice enough, offering a metal body and clean look. Its spec list sounds respectable, too, packing a screen that’s big but not too big and USB Type-C. Right now, the two standout features of the P9 are its big battery and its dual 12-megapixel rear cameras, and it’ll be interesting to see what kind of capabilities Huawei cooks up to take advantage of those two cameras in the final version of the P9.
