Virgin Mobile today announced its take on T-Mobile’s Music Freedom. Starting on October 9, Virgin Mobile customers will be able to stream music from iHeartRadio, Pandora, and Slacker Radio without the usage counting against their high-speed data buckets.
The data-free music is available with Virgin Mobile’s unlimited plans. Those start at $35 per month for 1GB of high-speed data and go up to $45 for 3GB of high-speed data and $55 per month for 8GB.
Obviously Virgin Mobile’s data-free streaming options are a bit limited at launch. However, Virgin Mobile says that more partners will be added.
In other Virgin Mobile news, the prepaid operator today added three new Android smartphones to its lineup. Those include the HTC Desire 626s, Moto G (3rd Gen.), and Huawei Union. The HTC Desire 626s is priced at $129.99, the Moto G (3rd Gen.) is $149.99, and the Huawei Union is $79.99. The HTC and Moto phones are available from Virgin Mobile today, while the Huawei device is available from Best Buy today and will hit Virgin Mobile’s shelves on October 13.
