On the heels of Apple’s announcement of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, T-Mobile has revealed a new promo for the latest iOS smartphones.
The T-Mobile Lifetime Coverage Guarantee is Big Magenta’s effort to get consumers to ignore the criticism that its network often gets and to actually try T-Mo for themselves. With the Lifetime Coverage Guarantee, if a customer buys an iPhone 6s and 6s Plus with JUMP! On Demand and they’re unhappy with T-Mo’s service, he or she can get a full device refund within the first 30 days of purchase. After that period, they can get their phone unlocked for use on another carrier, a refund on that month’s service, and they’ll get to keep the standard interest-free payment plan on the device.
The good news is that the Lifetime Coverage Guarantee isn’t iPhone 6s-exclusive. The promo is available to any phone that’s purchased with JUMP! On Demand and is compatible with T-Mobile’s Extended Range LTE, also known as band 12 or 700MHz.
Speaking of band 12 LTE, T-Mobile says that its Extended Range LTE service is now live in 170 markets across the country, with plans to expand to more than 350 markets by the end of 2015. Band 12 LTE offers improved coverage and building penetration.
In addition to revealing the Lifetime Coverage Guarantee, T-Mobile revealed the preliminary pricing details on the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. When purchased with JUMP! On Demand, customers can get the iPhone 6s for $0 down and $20 per month for 18 months. After those 18 months, you can either turn in the iPhone or buy it outright for an additional $164. The iPhone 6s Plus will be $0 down and 18 payments of $24, but there’s no word yet on how much the 6s Plus will cost to keep after those 18 monthly payments. T-Mobile notes that those are special introductory prices that “won’t last long.”
While T-Mobile doesn’t specifically mention those prices as being for the 16GB models, that’s likely to be the case. There’s no mention of how much the 64GB and 128GB versions of the new iPhones will cost. However, T-Mobile says that it will begin taking pre-orders for both iPhones on September 12, just like Apple will.
