Most carriers are now offering to pay the early termination fees of customers that switch operators, but today Sprint is taking things a step further with a new promotion.
Sprint says that it will reimburse all fees to customers that switch, including ETFs and any remaining payments on a phone installment plan. The big yellow carrier says it’ll cover all of your switching fees, “no matter what is owed.”
In order to qualify, you’ll need to transfer your number from any carrier and trade in your current phone. You’ll then activate a device on Sprint Easy Pay, Sprint Lease, iPhone for Life, or pay full retail for a phone with a new line of service. You then complete an online registration and upload a bill that shows the charges you need reimbursed. Sprint will refund the costs on an American Express Reward Card within 15 days of the completion of the online registration.
This is a pretty nice offer from Sprint because not only will it cover an ETF if you’re in a contract, but it will even pay off your installment plan on a new phone no matter what you’ve got left. That means that just about anyone can switch to Sprint and have their switcher fees covered, even if you plan to buy a phone outright from Sprint.
