If you use Google Now, I’ve got some big news for you: your card-based assistant is about to get a lot more useful.
Google has announced that starting today, January 30, the Google app on Android will support Google Now cards from 40 different apps. Those include The Guardian, Pandora, Duolingo, Kayak, eBay, Airbnb, and Lyft. Some of the cards that you’ll see will display Shazam music searches, Lyft shortcuts, Pandora music recommendations, Waze traffic alerts, and location info on Airbnb places that you’ve researched.
Google says that it will roll out new cards in the coming weeks. The company also plans to add more cards in the future.
Google Now is already super useful because it can scan your Gmail account to display flight and shipping info, alert you to upcoming games that involve your favorite sports teams, gather traffic info and tell you when to leave in order to make an appointment on time, and more. With third-party app integration, Google Now is going to become even more awesome, letting you do more without having to open up individual apps.
What third-party Google Now integration would you like to see in the future?
