WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging apps in mobile, but many folks would like to see it jump from mobile to the larger screen of their computer. Now that’s happening.
WhatsApp Web is a new way to use WhatsApp from your computer. Simply navigate to https://web.whatsapp.com using Google Chrome (WhatsApp says that support for more browsers is coming soon), scan the QR code with your phone to log in, and you’re set.
It’s worth noting that WhatsApp Web is an extension of the WhatsApp app on your phone, so all of your conversations will be routed through your handset. Also, iOS users are unable to use this feature right now due to “Apple platform limitations”. If you’ve got Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry, or BlackBerry 10, though, you’re good to go.
While this isn’t quite a full-on WhatsApp for your desktop, it will make using the messaging service easier if you’re already using a computer. Here’s to hoping that WhatsApp Web is made iOS-friendly in the near future so that Apple users can make their messaging easier as well.
