Verizon Wireless announced today they will be adding the long awaited SMT5800 to their current lineup of smartphones. Although not the thinnest smartphone in the stable its form factor is sure to be appealing to many Verizon customers. Essentially an HTC Vox modified for use on the CDMA network the SMT5800 features a 2.4 inch QVGA display, Windows Mobile 6 (standard OS), slide out QWERTY keyboard, 2.0 megapixel camera and a MicroSD slot good for up to 8GB of additional storage.
The phone is currently available for $199 (after a $50 mail in rebate) with a new two year contract.
