The new Nexus 7 is expected to be officially unveiled at Google's "breakfast with Sundar Pichai" event tomorrow, but as is usually the case with hotly-anticipated hardware, the tablet's imminent arrival hasn't stopped it from leaking once again. This time Reddit user "xQckx" has posted up two images that show the new Nexus 7's packaging, one of which also offers a peek at the backside of the unit itself. The new N7's box is definitely reminiscent of the original model's packaging, but it's been updated with a bright blue background and an image of one of the preinstalled wallpapers.
As a quick refresher, the new Nexus 7's rumored spec list includes a 7-inch 1920x1200 display, 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 5-megapixel rear and 1.2-megapixel front cameras, and 16GB and 32GB storage options, among other goodies. Pricing looks like it'll be set at $229 for the 16GB model and $269 for the more capacious 32GB version, and the device is expected to go on sale before the end of July (unless you manage to luck out and find a store to sell you one early, like the source of these images did). Now we wait for tomorrow's event to kick off and hopefully bring with it an official new Nexus 7 rundown, and hopefully some bacon and eggs to go with it.
UPDATE: Just in case these two photos aren't enough to whet your new Nexus 7 appetite, the folks over at Android Police have shared a bevy of high-quality photos of the device powered on as well as an video unboxing and hardware tour. You can check out one photo and the clip below, with many (and I mean many) more images available right here.
