Looks like there's some Jelly Bean goodness going out today, and the good news is that it appears that two devices are getting major JB updates. First up, several owners of AT&T's LG Optimus G are reporting that they've downloaded an update to Android 4.1.2 to their devices. AT&T public relations have told Android Central that there's no official update going out, but users on both the XDA-developers forums as well as AT&T's own community forums claim that they've been able to snag the bump up to Jelly Bean. The update is said to weigh in at 336MB and brings the Optimus G up to build number JZO54K and software version E97020j.
It's definitely kind of strange to see that, despite AT&T PR's claims that no update is going out, several users are apparently getting Jelly Bean over the air. One possible explanation is that the update is scheduled to go officially out soon and is just slipping out to some owners early. An XDA-developers forum member does claim to have seen an internal AT&T document that said that the Optimus G's Jelly Bean update is actually slated to start going out tomorrow, so it may be trickling out to some lucky AT&T Optimus G users ahead of the rollout's start. Any AT&T Optimus G owners that'd like to check for the update manually can do so by heading into Settings > About phone > Software update on their handset.
Meanwhile, ASUS has announced on its official Facebook page that the Transformer Pad Infinity will be receiving a Jelly Bean update of its own starting today, April 3. This update will bring the Infinity up to Android 4.2, meaning that the slate will be bump up to the same version as its Transformer Pad 300 sibling. Details on the update are light, but Infinity users can likely expect to see tweaks similar to those found in the Pad 300's update, which included performance and stability improvements as well as multi-user support.
