How does an update sound, Motorola Atrix 2 owners? You may soon have one headed your way, as Motorola is apparently planning to kick off an update soak test today. According to an email received by Android Central, Atrix 2 users that've agreed to test the update for Moto will begin having the new software pushed to them this afternoon. As is usually the case with these update soak tests, there's no word yet on precisely what this particular update might entail.
We noted last weekend that Motorola recently updated its Android upgrade schedule and, while the Atrix 2 was originally slated to get an Ice Cream Sandwich update sometime in the third quarter, the device now has a much more vague "Further plans coming soon" status. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until this update begins rolling out to the public (or a soak tester decides to leak more info) before we'll know exactly whether this mysterious update packs an ICS surprise or if there's something else inside. Stay tuned for more details as we get 'em.
UPDATE: Android Central says that it's confirmed that this soak test is for the Atrix 2's Ice Cream Sandwich update. There's no word on when the update might begin rolling out to regular users, but this is still pretty exciting news for all of the Atrix 2 users out there.
