Sony this morning announced that the Xperia acro S is now available in unlocked form to U.S. customers. The Xperia acro S was first introduced back in May 2012, but now U.S. residents interested in snagging the dust and water-resistant Ice Cream Sandwich handset can grab an unlocked model direct from Sony. Priced at $599.99 without a contract, the acro S is available in Ceramic White or Black. Specs for the acro S are as follows:
Earlier this year, Sony began offering devices like the Xperia S and Xperia P unlocked in the U.S., and now the company is continuing that trend of offering unlocked handsets with the Xperia acro S. While the unsubsidized price of the acro S won't appeal to everyone, it's good to see Sony at least giving U.S. customers the option of buying unlocked models of its handsets.
