We're not exactly strangers to Huawei's new T-Mobile myTouch and myTouch Q handsets, but today the folks at Magenta finally saw fit to officially introduce us to the two devices. The myTouch and myTouch Q will be launching on T-Mobile on August 8th, with both devices priced at $49.99 with a two-year contract and $50 mail-in rebate. The myTouch will be released in both black and dard red, while the keyboard-equipped myTouch Q will be available in black and white.
The myTouch and myTouch Q have a lot in common when it comes to specs, as both devices feature 4-inch WVGA touchscreens, 1.4GHz processors, 5-megapixel rear cameras and another shooter around front. The two phones also both have Genius buttons on their faces, giving users access to a voice-controlled service that can do things like search multiple sources and launch apps. Finally, the myTouch and myTouch Q will come pre-loaded with the same version of Android when they launch on August 8, which is version 2.3 Gingerbread. The one major difference between the two devices is the myTouch Q's slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
It's good to see the Huawei-made myTouch and myTouch Q finally get unveiled after being teased by several leaks in recent months. The two devices look like they could be decent entry-level options, and it's kind of nice that both phones share similar spec lists so that interested customers just need to decide whether they want a hardware keyboard or not. Of course, it's kind of a bummer that the new myTouches are launching with Android 2.3, but hopefully Huawei and T-Mobile can get updates out to the two phones in a timely manner.
