Good news this evening for Verizon customers, as the big red carrier has announced several enhancements to its 4G LTE network as well as some expansions and new markets that'll be going live soon. Many of the expansions cover portions of the U.S. from the Midwest to the East, but there are some new markets in Idaho and Montana included to mix things up just a bit. Many of the LTE network enhancements have already gone live, but the new and expanded markets are listed as going live either on July 19 or in the coming weeks. The full list is available at the bottom of this post.
As we've noted in the past, Verizon typically spreads its LTE expansion announcements throughout the month before the date that it actually flips its switch, so don't be surprised if the carrier reveals more areas that'll soon be gaining LTE coverage later in July. Verizon has said that it hopes to have its LTE network in 400 U.S. markets before the end of 2012. The last time it expanded its coverage, Big Red said that it had reached a total of 304 cities, so the carrier is definitely on its way to reaching that goal. Are any of you located in one of the markets on the list below?
