The HTC EVO 4G LTE was originally set to debut on May 18th, but due to a U.S. Customs-related issue, the official launch was delayed. Folks that pre-ordered the EVO 4G LTE have begun receiving their units, though, and it looks like Sprint trying to make up for the delay to at least some of those customers. One EVO 4G LTE owner reports that they received a free gel cover with their new EVO, along with a note thanking them for their patience. The full text reads:
"HTC and Sprint want to thank you for your patience as we know you have been anticipating the arrival of your new HTC EVO 4G LTE. Please accept this phone accessory as a small token of our appreciation and thanks."
Definitely a nice move from Sprint, and I'm sure that many new EVO 4G LTE owners will appreciate the fact that Hesse and Co. have saved them the trouble of going out and selecting a case for their shiny new phone. The carrier says that everyone that pre-ordered is getting a case (so don't get too upset if yours hasn't come yet) and that it can't be exchanged for a different accessory.
As for folks that didn't pre-order an EVO 4G LTE from Sprint, there's still no word on when a national launch for the handset will be going down, but Sprint has said that it'll share more information as soon as possible. Until then, pre-order customers can enjoy their EVO 4G LTEs while knowing that they're part of an exclusive club of sorts. Did any of you pre-order an EVO 4G LTE? If you did, have you received your case?
