We may be in the middle of a busy fall smartphone release window, but today the rumor mill is turning its attention toward 2021.
New renders have surfaced that claim to show the Samsung Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Ultra. The images come from OnLeaks and they show designs that are based on CAD-based drawings of Samsung's next flagships. However, OnLeaks has a fairly strong record with these types of leaks, and so it's very possible that the actual S21 and S21 Ultra will look like this.
From the front, these Galaxy S21 and S21 Ultra models look fairly similar to the Galaxy S20 and S20 Ultra. They each have an edge-to-edge screen with slim bezels and a hole-punch selfie camera. The Galaxy S21 is said to have a flat 6.2-inch display while the S21 Ultra reportedly has a screen that's between 6.7 and 6.9 inches and has slightly curved edges.
Around back is where things change a bit. The rear camera bumps on both phones have a wrap-around design where the bump is in the upper-left corner of the phone's backside and then they appear to wrap around to the sides.
The Galaxy S21 has three rear cameras and a flash that's outside of the camera bump while the Galaxy S21 Ultra has four cams and a flash that's integrated into the camera bump. Unfortunately, today's leak doesn't have any info on what features these cameras might have.
The Galaxy S21 is said to measure 151.7 x 71.2 x 7.9mm, which would make it the same height and thickness of the Galaxy S20 but slightly wider (151.7 x 69.1 x 7.9mm). Meanwhile, the Galaxy S21 Ultra dimensions will reportedly come in at 165.1 x 75.6 x 8.9mm, making it a little shorter and less wide than the S20 Ultra but just a hair thicker (166.9 x 76.0 x 8.8mm).
Finally, if you're liking these leaked designs, you'll be pleased to hear that you may be able to get your hands on the real thing earlier than expected. OnLeaks says that Samsung is aiming to launch the Galaxy S21 series in January, which backs up a recent report from SamMobile that said the same thing. That'd be earlier in the year than Samsung's recent Galaxy S flagships that've been announced in mid- to late February.
