In anticipation of the arrival of Android 10 and its system-wide dark mode, Google updated many of its Android apps to include a dark theme to help them fit in. Now another app is getting its dark mode.
Google Podcasts is receiving a dark theme. Spotted by Android Police, the dark mode isn't completely black, but is instead a dark gray with white text. Still, this Google Podcasts dark theme will fit in better when you activate your phone's dark mode than the bright white theme that Google Podcasts has had since launch.
The bad news is that the Google Podcasts dark mode appears to be a server-side change and not a simple app update that you can install yourself. That means you'll just have to wait for Google to flip the switch for your device before you'll get to try this app's dark mode for yourself.
