Just six months after introducing the Nokia 2.2, HMD Global has taken the wraps off of a new affordable Android smartphone.
The Nokia 2.3 is now official, boasting a big battery and a small price tag. HMD has included a 4000mAh battery inside the Nokia 2.3 that it says will get you up to 2 days of battery life on a single charge thanks to Android's Adaptive Battery technology.
When it launches in mid-December, the Nokia 2.3 will cost 109 euros ($121 USD). You'll have three color options to choose from: Sand, Charcoal, and a sharp-looking Cyan Green.
No matter which hue you choose, your Nokia 2.3 will feature a 6.2-inch HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio and a notch. Inside that notch is a 5MP selfie camera with face unlock support, and around back there are two more snappers, including a 13MP main cam and a 2MP depth-sensing camera to help you get bokeh shots with blurry backgrounds.
Inside the Nokia 2.3 there's a MediaTek Helio P22 processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, though HMD has also included a microSD slot in case you need additional storage. There's also a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is a feature missing from many other, pricier Android phones nowadays, as well as FM radio support and a microUSB charging port.
The Nokia 2.3 comes preloaded with Android 9 Pie, but will be updated to Android 10. In fact, HMD promises that the Nokia 2.3 will get 2 years of software upgrades and 3 years of monthly security updates.
Finally, there's a dedicated Google Assistant button on the side of the Nokia 2.3 to give you quick access to your digital assistant for info on the weather, help with controlling smart home devices, some streaming music, and more.
