Now that watchOS 6 is out, Apple is ready to begin beta testing its next Apple Watch update.
watchOS 6.1 beta 1 is now rolling out to registered developers. If that's you, then you can grab the first watchOS 6.1 beta through the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. Just be sure you've installed the configuration profile from Apple's Developer Center website and then select General > Software Update in your Watch app.
Since this is the first watchOS 6.1 beta, there's no word yet on what new features might be included. watchOS 6 was a major update for the Apple Watch, bringing new features like a standalone App Store for the Watch as well as some new apps, and so it's possible that watchOS 6.1 will be focused on squashing bugs and improving performance after watchOS 6 has been out in the wild.
Stay tuned and we'll bring you more on the watchOS 6.1 update as it becomes available.
