We often see popular apps get "Lite" versions that are meant for countries where network connectivity or data plans may be limited. Facebook and Twitter both have Lite apps, and now Spotify does, too.
Spotify Lite is now available on Android. It's just 10MB in size, meaning it should install fairly quickly and won't take a major piece of a limited data plan. The app also lets you set a data usage limit and get a notification when you reach it, as well as clear your cache with a single tap.
Despite being a "Lite" app, Spotify says that Spotify Lite offers "the same great listening experience that lets you discover, play, and enjoy millions of songs."
Spotify Lite is available in 36 countries in Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. They include Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Chile, Colombia, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Uruguay, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Algeria, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, Oman, Jordan, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, South Africa, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, and India.
