Two-day free shipping is one of the biggest benefits of Amazon Prime, and probably the one that is most taken advantage of by many Prime members. Today Amazon said that it's working to make the feature even better.
Amazon plans to give free one-day shipping to all Prime members. As noted by BuzzFeed News, Amazon explained during its earnings call today that it will invest $800 million over the quarter on its fulfillment network in order to help make two-day shipping items get to their buyers even faster.
Amazon does offer free one-day shipping on select items when you spend at least $35, but with this move, it wants to make one-day shipping the standard for Prime members.
This is a pretty big move for Amazon that's sure to make Prime members happy. Some folks were frustrated with Amazon when it increased the price of a Prime membership by $20 last year, but the move to one-day Prime shipping as the standard should please a lot of folks since they'll be getting their purchases even faster.
