Google said a couple of months ago that the Pixel 2 and 2 XL would receive their final update in December, and now those are officially available.
The new update for the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL is listed as version RP1A.201005.004.A1 and can be downloaded as a factory image or OTA image from Google. It should also be rolling out over the air right now, so if you're still rocking a Pixel 2 or 2 XL, be on the lookout for this release or check for it manually in your Settings app.
There's no official changelog for this new update, but Google previously said that the final update for the Pixel 2 and 2 XL would combine the security patches and critical bug fixes from both November and December into a single update.
We do know that none of the new features of the Pixel Feature Drop that Google announced yesterday are coming to the Pixel 2 or 2 XL. So this last update is likely just meant to give the aging Pixel 2 and 2 XL their final security patches and patch any significant bugs before Google sends them off into the sunset.
Did you ever use a Pixel 2 or 2 XL? Are you or anyone you know still rocking one today?
