When the OnePlus Nord N100 was announced last month, OnePlus said that it only had a 60Hz display. But now it's been revealed that the £179 device actually has a higher refresh rate.
The Nord N100 display supports a 90Hz refresh rate. The folks at Android Authority purchased a retail unit and discovered a 90Hz toggle in the Nord N100's Settings app, and OnePlus then confirmed that a 90Hz refresh rate is supported on the most affordable Nord.
"The N100 is equipped with a 90Hz display," OnePlus said. "Actual refresh rate depends on settings, applications used, and processing limitations."
It's unclear why OnePlus wouldn't advertise this 90Hz support, as that's a popular feature on many smartphones and it could help to make the low-cost Nord N100 more attractive. However, it's being speculated that the Nord N100's lower-end specs may not be able to keep up with a 90Hz refresh rate, and so OnePlus opted to not mention that feature rather than highlight it and have Nord N100's owners complain about 90Hz performance.
Whatever the reason, this is a nice surprise for anyone interested in the OnePlus Nord N100, especially after we learned last week that the phone will only receive one Android OS update.
