The Google Fit apps on Android and iOS smartphones are getting a new update today to help you more quickly view important information.
This updated Google Fit home screen will show your daily and weekly goals for Heart Points and Steps, letting you easily see how close you are to achieving your goals. It'll also show your most recent workout as well as your heart rate, weight, and blood pressure trends over time.
Google is also enabling you to share stats, routes, or photos from your Google Fit journal entries to social media and messaging apps so you can celebrate your accomplishments with friends.
Sleep tracking in Google Fit is getting better with this update, too. If you have a connected device like a Fossil Gen 5E smartwatch, Oura Ring, or Withings sleep tracking mat,you can now track your nightly activity, set a bedtime schedule goal, and more all within the Google Fit app.
And finally, the Wear OS version of Google Fit is getting some new features. New shortcuts in the Google Fit Workouts Tile will take you to your most recent workouts so you can start your exercises faster, and a new Beathe Tile will give you guided breathing sessions. Finally, Google says it's updating the weather experience on Wear OS with a bolder design and more relevant forecast info, like precipitation and weather alerts, to help you decide if you want to exercise outdoors.
All of these updates are rolling out in the coming days.
