Motorola's Moto G series has long been a solid option for folks looking for a quality, affordable Android phone. And this week we're getting an early peek at an upcoming entry in the Moto G lineup.
New renders claim to show the follow-up to the Moto G9 Play, which could be called the Moto G10 Play. The design shown by OnLeaks looks fairly similar to the Moto G9 Play, but Motorola has made a couple of changes.
On the side of this Moto G10 Play is a fingerprint reader that's integrated into the power button. This is a change from the rear fingerprint reader on the Moto G9 Play. We can also see a square camera bump that's centered on the back of the Moto G10 Play and holds three cameras plus a flash.
Around front is the other big design change. While the Moto G9 Play had a waterdrop notch at the top of its screen, Motorola has opted for a hole-punch selfie camera on the Moto G10 Play.
Other features of this Moto G10 Play include a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top of the device and what looks to be a USB-C port for charging on the bottom. Finally, it's said that this Moto G10 Play will have the model number XT-2117, and a device with that model number was recently certified by TÜV Rheinland with a 4850mAh battery.
Motorola's Moto G devices are all about affordability, and the Moto G9 Play follows that with its price tag of £159.99 ($209 USD). While we don't have the Moto G10 Play's full spec list yet, it wouldn't be a surprise if the new model was priced similarly to its predecessor. An official announcement is expected in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
